Wiltshire Concert Band was formed in 1985 when it was known as the Wiltshire Police Band. We changed our name on 1st April 2026. We are a friendly and welcoming group based in Rowde, near Devizes where we rehearse Tuesday evenings. To find out more click here. The Band currently has around 35 members playing brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. We are of all ages, and from different backgrounds – what we have in common is the enjoyment we get from making music. We welcome new members and, while there is no formal audition process players need to have a good level of sight reading (often at speed !) and be playing at around grade 5/6 standard. As a band we ask that members attend rehearsals regularly and play as much as possible. To find out more about joining us click here.
The band’s repertoire is vast and ranges from traditional marches to big band classics, popular musical shows, film music and arrangements of classical pieces. To find out more about our repertoire click here. Our aim is to enjoy our music-making and we perform regularly, often in collaboration with other groups and soloists. Our performances range from large scale concerts to background music at smaller events; we provide summer afternoon entertainment at local bandstands but can also support more solemn occasions such as Remembrance Services. We also perform to support local charities and play at events run by other organizations helping to raise money for good causes. To find out more about where we play click here.
Our musical Director is Martin Perry LRAM ARCM. Martin has been with the band since 2012 as a Clarinettist and became our Musical Director in 2014. For more information click here.
